Pompano beach

Pelicans....and fish. there were loads of fish, colorful ones, big ones. needle fish too.
Notice the sign "manatee zone" :D I love manatees, I wish I'd see one.

Baggle with cream cheese! From dunkin donuts. First time I ever ate there. The baggle has alot of cinnamon and some raisins, it was amazing. I also had something called bow tie.. don't get me started on that.

I went to Pompano Beach again, and was able to park the car and walk around.. there were loads of fish near the fishermen, i stared at them for a while. They are colourful.. Couldn't get a visible photo of them. The house photos are along a road called A1a, that goes between the ocean and a cannal, it has amazing homes on both sides of the road.

I fed birds today, with cookies... a crow and pidgeons and seaguls! the seaguls actually caught the cookie on the air a couple of times! I was sitting on a bench and they would fly above my head. like a meter away or so. It was really cool. It was windy so they just floated in the wind. it was fun. loads of birds came.

I belong

About the identity crisis I mentioned below, it's interesting to add that, I had never had a proper ID card in my life.. I use a "permanent residency authorization" and have to deal with some crap once in a while due to not being portuguese. Yeah, I could have both nationalities and whatever, I'll do that very soon. But the point is, I never did.
And now I have real documents, my own social security number... I feel more whole, more integrated in society. It's kind of unexpected to be in a strange and exotic country and tell them my name, and have them search their computers and say "yes, you sure did have a social security number, that makes it alot easier, for you... and for me!... you will get the card in 10 days, meanwhile use this paper. Have a great day"
Get it?

shopping spree

Flash.....

I have to take back what I said about here not being a good place to get pretty clothes. Today I found a few great places, I love what I found. Photo 3 and 4 are the same, except one is in black the other in plum, and i got another in yellow which is really cute too, but the photo of it sucked.

I love them. My fav is the black one. it has 2 handpockets in the front, and the back has a square cut too in the neck.

The blue shoes are supposed to work as sport shoes. they are pretty confortable. Except they are ugly in socks. I got a special sock for them, but didn't really work. We'll see how they behave.

The slippers were the most expensive item I got, 29 dolars. From american eagle. they're leather, they're cute. The strap is in silver. The strap iches a bit.

The nine shirts costed 106 dolars all together, and they're very good quality, so i'm happy with what I got (as you might have noticed, I didn't photograph all the shirts, not much in the mood for it. This post was actually requested by my boyfriend, hence my effort)

I feel weird though. Don't know why. When life is easy you tend to become superficial. I'm having an identity crisis I think.
In one of my metaphysical chats with my buddies on the other side, I was shown my life in the future.. how it would be, and it was kind of materialistic. kind of superficial. At least compared to ... hmm... I guess to what it could be, compared to it's potential. We'll see. I'll do my best to keep in check. It was a pretty nice "future", just kind of ... normal. it was the american dream I guess.

I think about this once in a while. How to avoid looking for happiness in the wrong place, and at the same time respect whatever evolution is taking place at the moment, whithout being harsh/unloving.
ps. yes, I use glasses at night. I look dorky.
pps. I got some nice earings too.

Food

Cookies..... not as good as the others. I need to find the right recipe and freakin' stick to it. : They look nice though. and they taste pretty good, just not perfect like they should. Not enough vanilla, salt, butter. needs more sugar. Whatever. F%&$#.

This is the same pizza i had at Newark airport. It's from a place called Sbarros. It is really good.

WEEE!! :)

MY DRIVER'S LICENSE!!!!! :D
I got an ID too. I even like the photo. :D

Today I drove to walmart by myself!

And then to the beach!!!! The water is so nice, it's warm.

I went to deerfield beach. This red think I think is a huge seed of something. and it has eggs of crab or whatever, but they looked like a flower, I thought it was worth a picture.

What a great day =) I got the drivers license and an ID. I don't need to carry my passport everywhere now. I also registered to vote.
They ask if you want to be an organ donor before they print the license! If you do, it's written there. In case you die, a few people could live :p
Of course the thought of them letting me die to get my organs comes to mind :P but one must trust people sometimes. I should have told them they can't get my stomache. it's bypassed. just kidding. i'm tired! I payed 3 dolars for my ID. and they printed it in 10 minutes.

They sell these at walmart by the way. american flags and license plates..and what not. they're expensive too.

More pics

As we were leaving home for a walk, I saw that white bird on the street and was all psyched about it, trying to get a picture, then another showed up, and another, and then 4 more, and they were all feeding off the neighbours grass! This last photo is a lizzard. today I watched one and he was blowing an orange ball under his neck like frogs do! I couldn't get a picture of that.
I was told there are alot of iguanas hanging out here too.
The squirls are fun to watch. this on in the picture actually took a few steps towards me when I called! and then he just watched. that's what some birds do too sometimes. they kind of trust people. and kind of don't. wise they are.
The houses are worth millions of dollars. They are amazing. This neighbourhood is amazing. It's totally wild and totally civilized, all together. All in one.
